Media Reporter

Media Reporter is evaluation software for media usage data generated by the electronic measuring devices Telecontrol (TV data) or Mediawatch (TV, radio, print data). The software was developed by IHA-GfK Switzerland and is used in various countries by market researchers, media agencies, TV stations and advertisers. Only a short time is needed for familiarization with it since it is well integrated into the Microsoft Windows and Office family. This innovative product is being continuously expanded and can be flexibly extended.

It uses a client-server model for data retrieval: all work needing a lot of processing power is carried out on powerful computers in the data centre - the client only needs to display the data calculated. Connection to the server is via ISDN, internal network or the Internet (protected by VPN). Data can thus be obtained from any location with Internet access.

Functions:

  • Rating (in percent and in thousands)
  • Reach, cover, cumulated (in percent and in thousands)
  • Frequency
  • Usage in minutes (amount of viewing)
  • Usage per viewer/listener (amount of viewing/listening)
  • Market share
  • Audience structure (in terms of demographics)
  • Average age
  • Affinity index
  • Programme appreciation

Additional facts can be included dependent on the information available:

  • Gross rating points
  • CPT (cost per thousand)
  • OTS (opportunity to see)
  • Etc.

The Media Reporter can also select and manage log files. The raw data can also be exported from the Reporter to other programmes (statistics programme, etc.). In addition, the Reporter is capable of generating lifestyles as they are called such as Sinus-Milieus or Euro-Styles. Thanks to the client-server architecture, time-consuming evaluations of this type can be carried out quickly.
