Universal Meter System

GfK Telecontrol’s latest development is the Universal Meter System (UMS). UMS combines a TV household meter (UMX), a portable multimedia meter (Mediawatch), a meter for measuring web consume on PC (USX) and a light-weight household meter (TV Logger). Each measurement component can be administered from the same data central and run with the same panel. Additionally, the data collected from all components can be analyzed with one software. The data gathered with the Mediawatch and USX can be combined with the base data from UMX by applying a data fusion process. Moreover, data from other data sources such as “Return Path Data” or data from mobile phones can be integrated as well.

Thus, the Universal Meter System (UMS) measures media consumption at-home and out-of-home, from any distribution platform, on the TV as well as on the computer.

The biggest advantage of the Universal Meter System is its flexibility: several measurement components can be run with the same panel. Additionally, it is possible to start with just one measurement component and add more as need arises. Therefore, UMS is a flexible and future orientated measurement system, which meets all requirements and needs that can come up in the future.
